mxtxThe Tian Guan Ci Fu/Heavenly Official's Blessing novel is just over 250 chapters at roughly 1.1 million words long. That's pretty daunting! Which is why we're going to read it as a group.
The manhua currently updates on Fridays, so I figured why not have our group read discussions on Fridays too? (FYI the manhua starts around chapter 6 of the novel.)
Let's prepare to "meet" for our first discussion in two weeks from now on DECEMBER 6, and then we'll have a new community post for each week after that. I am tentatively setting goalpost #1 at CHAPTER 10 (that's page 110 in my chinese ebook).
The stickied community post has links to the book in chinese & english, but you are free to read any translation!

1) Reading speed: Are we going too fast or too slow? We can adjust moving forward.
2) The story so far: For each discussion post, I'll briefly list out characters & plot, spark notes style. (Dec 6 will cover chapters 1 through 10.)
3) Q&A: Was there anything you were confused about? Hopefully someone can answer (without spoilers)!

ETA. No we don't have an official air date yet for the first season of TGCF donghua other than "some time in 2020". And no, we're not necessarily trying to finish the whole book before the donghua begins. I personally had a pretty good time reading the MDZS novel as the donghua aired, and I'm guessing the TGCF airing schedule might be similar with lots of downtime in between seasons to catch up on reading!
